// This post is written in Dutch because it's a review about a Dutch brand of disposable litter boxes. For more information, I kindly ask you to visit the website of Poopy Cat. A new English post will be up on Tuesday!

High time to check up on the Summer bucket list I made over a month ago. I haven't achieved as much as I would've liked, so on to a more productive month!

1. drink 2l water a day
2. buy flowers for myself
3. shoot a roll of film
4. make an outfit for myself
5. do a refashion
6. make a granny square
7. learn to play the guitar
8. attend a flea market with all my old clothing
9. visit (another) flea/handmade/design market
10. print my project 365 from last year and put the photos in a book

11. pass my resits!
12. go on a picnic
13. go roller blading
14. go on a little road trip
15. do a 3-day detox
16. get my nose pierced
17. get a tattoo
18. bake something sweet
19. revamp the blog
20. participate in a 5k-run!
21. return every borrowed item to its rightful owner

1. I've been sick pretty much all August. First I had a bladder infection, which wouldn't heal. After that I got a cold and really bad throat pain, so I drank a loooot of water and tea this month. Let's hope I can keep this one up without having to get sick all the time now.

5. Yup! You can read all about my upcycled volkswagen shorts here.

9. Last weekend, on my sister's birthday, we visited the Antwerp Vintage Market. The atmosphere was great, but I didn't buy anything unfortunately. I did find some cool shirts and jackets, but they were a bit too expensive to take with me. Hooray for sales at Think Twice ;-)

12. I had a lovely picnic with my awesome fab friends. We even had some slugs joining the party.

18. Hosted a diner party during the Fifa World Cup where I made a salad, quiches and some chocolate muffins. Yummie! Really made me realize that I should bake more often.

19. And you can still admire the results ;-) I'm still very happy with the way things are looking here, it looks so clean and organized, yay!

Tonight's my final shift at the post office. Can't wait to get out a bit more and leave for holiday together with the bf in exactly a week. Hope you're doing well! Talk to you soon!

Hiya there! I'm still here. Things have been hectic last week, due to deadlines for my resits (made it, ah yeah!) & work. Another week (well, actually two weeks..) has passed so here I am with another update on my Project 365. Quite pleased with these batch of pictures, if I may say so myself. Hope you enjoy!

The boy treated me on this new flavour of ice cream McDo sells. I'm not a big fan of McDo, but McFlurry always does the trick.

Visited an oldtimerrally, had a blast and came across this vintage shop that sold the cutest things.

Can you believe this lady is already 17? She is still so unbelievably cute.

That's that! Check back here in a few days to get a purrsome update ;-) Take care & talk to you soon!

Lately I've been really into embroidering, as you could see before in a few Snail mail Sunday posts. I like to make these colorful little gifts for my penpals, so they can hang them in their room or get inspired by it. On another note, I also found myself constantly looking for needles while I was sewing. They were just scattered around my supplies box, so I made a felt sewing needle booklet, and embroidered a bit on top. (and of course, I had to include some kind of owl in the booklet, after all it's still me!) :) What do you think?

Now, I gotta get back to work. Deadline for my resits is getting closer and I have tons of work to do. Talk to you later!

So, what have you been crafting lately?

Hi! Noticed anything different? Yeah, that's right, I did a proper lay-out change! It looks really different, but I like it! I might change the 'bij gebrek aan beter' on top into something that's a little more colorful, but I'm happy with the change. It was about time. If you find anything that is not as it should be in the layout, please let me know so I can work it out. Thank you!

Now on to week 14 of my Project 365! As I mentioned before I was going to participate in the August photo challenge organized by Melissa, but I got sick two weeks ago and found it hard to catch up with the photos I've missed, so I've decided to not participate after all. I've been having a lot of new inspiration lately though, so I'm pretty sure you'll see some of it shining through in the next week's batches of photos.

Movie was better than the book, that's a first. (Altough I did see the film before reading the book, so maybe that's the reason?)

That's all for today! Take care & I'll talk to you soon!

A couple of weeks ago I found myself in desperate need of some shorts. Luckily for me, the boyfriend had an old pair of jeans that was ripped at the knees and he didn't wear it anymore. It fit me perfectly, so I cut it off, folded the hem over twice and secured the sides with a few stitches.

It looked fine, but a lil' plain Jane, right?

So I decided to upcycle it a bit more by incorporating this lovely pink hippie Volkswagen fabric I bought (over six months ago!). I cut two pockets and sewed them on top of the - already existing - pockets on the back of the shorts. To make it even more me, I added my own fabric label. Et voilà, totally wearable and totally Elisse!

What do you think? Have you refashioned anything lately?

Hope you have a splendid Friday - and to all moms, especially mine: Happy Mother's Day! - I'll talk to you soon!

I'm turning 24 on Feb 12 2015. To make this year a bit more challenging and fun, I made a list with 23 things I'd like to accomplish before turning 24. 6 months have passed so far and I'm here to share what I've done so far! You can check out the full list here, and in this post I will focus solely on the things I've achieved so far.

1. read 30 books: 12/30
(All Families are Psychotic - Douglas Coupland, Water for Elephants - Sara Gruen, Fight Club - Chuck Palahniuk, Broodje @@p - Patrick Arink, Zwellend Fruit - Peter Verhelst, The Book Thief - Markus Zusak, A Clockwork Orange - Anthony Burgess, Art D'Eco - Kelly Eeckhaut, The Fault in Our Stars - John Green, Where'd you go, Bernadette - Maria Semple, Suicide Notes - Michael Thomas Ford, Trainspotting - Irvine Welsh)
Almost halfway there! I just started rereading the Harry Potter series, so I'm pretty sure this will be an easy one to accomplish. :)

2. make/sew/craft 15 things for myself: 4/15
(iPhone cozies, kitchen apron, upcycled shorts (blogpost will follow), felt sewing needle booklet (blogpost will follow))
I still have a long way to go with this one, so I'll better get started!

5. have my own domain name
April 11, 2014: http://bijgebrekaanbeter.be is a fact! After four years and one day I finally bought my own domain name. Yay!

6. go to a festival
Gladiolen, check! (Thanks to the awesomesauce DJ-duo Lumberjack!)
Lucid Festival, check!
Gentse Feesten, check!
Dour, check!

9. make my own fabric labels
I have 100 bij gebrek aan beter labels, so I'll have to put them to good use.

11. do a photo an hour each month: 5/12
(February, March, April, May)
--> Dammit, I forgot in July! To make this up, I'll do two photo an hours in September (one while on holiday, one at home!)

13. save up enough money for a new camera
I bought a Canon EOS 600D!

22. get healthier
I feel a lot healthier since I eat more veggies & fruits, and try to eat less candy & sugar, but this could still improve a lot in my opinion, so I'll get back to you by the end of my 23d year :)

23. be able to run 5km without undergoing mental or physical breakdown
I ran my first 5k on July 10 together with my mom. High five!

I still have quite a lot to do, first one on the agenda is definitely the 'get my nose pierced'. Sorry mom.

Did you make a ... before ... list this year? How's it going?

Take care & talk to you soon!
