2013 was a wonderful year for me. I hope 2014 will be even better, so that I can explore the boundaries of my creativity even more, become even happier with myself and blog a little more. I want to do more of the things that make me truly happy.

To end 2013 appropriately, here are some photos that sum up my year pretty well.







01 i finished my first year in Journalism without any resits! ~ 02 i improved my sewing skills with personal projects & the help of my sewing bee
03 the bf moved to his own apartment, two months later i moved in with him ~ 04 i learnt to appreciate my family more
05 every day i love him more and more and more ~ 06 we adopted two kittens
07 i found an awesome student job, 5 months later i quit that job and found another one closer by~ 08 i celebrated my 22nd birthday with friends
09 & 10 i discovered the true meaning of friendship, bonded with some a little better and let other friends live their own life
11 i made a few trips to other countries (to Berlin, Escalles and Alanya) but explored some Belgian cities as well (Mechelen, Ghent and Brussels) ~ 12 i found joy in being my own model
13 i got better at photography, even got a few paid assignments and launched my online portfolio

P.S. I've almost forgotten to thank YOU for simply reading my blog posts, commenting sweet things, sending me little trinkets in the mail, ... You are awesome, dear readers!

Quite some time ago, I went to Brussels together with my sister, Lieke & Eline for Dawanda's bloggers meetup and their design market. There was a workshop where we could spice up plain totebags and all four of us chose the fox pattern. Here are some more shots of the Design Market itself. It was hosted at the Meininger Hotel in Brussels, where every exhibitor could decorate his own hotel room. Pretty fancy concept, too bad that the lighting was really bad. But anyway, I boosted up the exposure in my photos so you can all see the talented shop owners' work!









We all received a goodie bag as well, with gifts from all exhibitors and mine was oh so lovely! My gift bag included among others a lovely dino brooch from Corina Rietveld. I also bought some handmade envelopes and postcards from Herr Pfeffer.



And tadah, my new grocery tote bag! :) Thank you Dawanda, for this lovely day!

A few weeks ago I spotted Olga's crazy cat lady tag and immediately I wanted to share my cat's quirks. Luckily for me, I got tagged by Kathleen, so here I am with my version of the Crazy Cat Lady Tag!

In case you didn't have a clue, me and the boyfriend adopted two siblings on June 1st. Pixel is a black & white male, Cera is the three-colored lady. Check out the previous posts about them here (1, 2 & 3).

Cutest picture of your cats
Without a doubt this one. Every time I see this, my heart gets fuzzy & warm.


Special characteristics
Pixel & Cera are both very cuddly. If someone is at home, they immediately come crawling up your lap. If they see a box or bag, they have to get in.
Pixel likes to lie on our cellphones, laptop, remote controls, ... Anything, as long as it's not soft or warm will do!
Cera will only lie fully on me. The boyfriend has tried a bazillion times, but she'll only lie with her head on his body. Girls stick together!

Describe the noise your cats make
Pixel purrs like a badass. His purr is one of the loudest I've ever heard a cat make. Also, he makes adorable sounds and movements in his sleep. I wish I could show you, but we're always too late to catch it on film.
Cera meows in a high, almost squeaking way. She's much of a talker and meows whenever she's hungry or wants attention.

Nick-names
I tend to give them all kinds of nick-names. Pixel often gets called Pixelino or Pixeliño (even though Joeri doesn't really like that), fretzakske/dikzakske because he's kind of a fatty, and Ronkie (because just like Nelson he's a purrer :) ). Cera doesn't really have nick-names, but I like to call her little missy, poezemina, & poezenol. We also refer to them both as cutiepies or simply 'poesjes'.

Confessions
- Our kittens sometimes seem to forget how to use the litter box. Occasionally we find pee in the hallway. But, we're working on it!
- These are our first family photos as a family of four (and we only made them a few days ago)!


Tip for other crazy cat ladies
Keep an eye on your cats when they don't suspect it. They can be hilarious sometimes. Also, try to catch it on tape when they do something they're not supposed to and you surprise attack them. So. Funny.

A handmade booklet for Fabrizia, inspired by the ones I've received in the past from my penpals. A real peacock feather, some postcards & another magnetic bookmark I found at a book fair. Oh and some weeks later I also sent her a Christmas parcel, but I'm not going to spoil yet, so check back later to find out what Fab received.

A few weeks ago, Karen & Bram from GhentStreetStyle did a giveaway on their blog where you could win a smartphone/tablet case from Fotocover. Of course I participated (I'm now the proud owner of an iPhone 4s after a bit of saving up!) and guess what: I won! I decided to make a collage of my three loves: Joeri, Pixel & Cera.
