Don't forget guys, the photo challenge starts tomorrow!

In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, check out this post. You can still participate of course!

I'm off to Curaçao with my family, so my first pictures will (hopefully) be very sunny! Talk to you soon!
ps. If you want to send me a birthday card, click here.

Time for another one of my collections!

This is one of my biggest collections, numero uno is of course my owls. But I own quite some brooches as well. Let's take a look. (ps. I'm sorry my desk seems to change colors, it has something to do with the white balance on my phone…)

bow: handmade, squid: gift from Saar, fox: gift from Eline, peacock feather: handmade, owl: handmade

ostrich & yellow lined owl: made by Emmel, fabric buttons with mushrooms, flower print, strawberry & owls: handmade by me, tiny owls: gift from Ely, drawn owl: gift from Fenne, dog: gift from Elise

leaf: gift from Merula, tooth: gift from Andrea, owl: gift from Eline, cloud: gift from ??? (I don't remember? If you know, please leave a comment!), mustache: gift from Elodie, green owl: gift from Merula, blue owl: gift from Saar, dragon: gift from Corina Rietveld

paper soda can owl: handmade, hama beads owl: handmade, cup brooches: handmade, bird: h&m, roses: gift from my grandma, wood owl: secondhand, tiny owl: gift, bling owl: gift from my sista

I do have some more buttons & brooches, but they're probably hanging on a purse, coat, … or got eaten by the cats (like the lovely leaf brooch that has tiny tooth marks as well :( )

If you want to see more collections, this link will take you to the collections I previously blogged about. (Currently only notebooks, and a little bit of my fabric stash)

Do you like these kind of posts? What do you collect?

Look what I received in my mailbox. Thanks to Anne I was able to discover the Printic App for iPhone and I have to say, I was impressed. I received a coupon for some free printics and a couple of days later they got delivered in a tiny orange envelope. Good quality + good price = smile on my face.

Then I remembered that a couple of months ago (back in the beginning of 2013), Printic asked me to cooperate with them. I could pick 10 free printics and then give my lovely readers 10 printics as well. Since you guys are too sweet, and I'm in love with the app, I was super exited for this idea.

But first, let me tell you a little bit about the app. You can download the app for free (iPhone or Android) and then import your photos from instagram, your Facebook, your photostream, … After that, Printic creates the awesome polaroid frame for your photos, you can add a text (but you don't have to!) and they're ready to be sent! The best thing about all this is that the first picture costs €1,59 and all the next only €0,39. Also, there are NO shipping costs! So that's pretty cheap, and you can do all sorts of fun things with them!
As you can see, I made mine into a photo wall (the wall above our sofa) using only washi tape. I'm going to order some more in the future so this photowall can be an ongoing project!

All you have to do in order to win 10 printics, is leave a comment saying what you would do with the photos. Don't forget to leave your e-mailaddress so that I can contact you. It would be nice if you followed my blog as well (Bloglovin' or GFC). This giveaway is international, so yes, even you can participate.
You can enter the giveaway til Feb 10 at midnight and I'll send him/her an e-mail with their coupon.

Good luck! & Talk to you soon!

This article was written in collaboration with Printic. All reviews on my blog are presented honestly. I only support and promote things I personally believe in.
A slightly less photo-heavy post than you're used to, but don't worry, in a few weeks there'll be an overload!

to Leen
I filled in a real friendship booklet, yay! Leen let me be in hers. I'm curious to read the 'end' result though.

to ???
I participated in Fab's secret penpal scavenger hunt. Here are some sneak peeks. For the real deal you'll have to visit back on February 8th. Hopefully my penpal will have had his/her package by then!

to Karlijn
As a little thank you for the wonderful handmade postcards she sent me, I sent Karlijn pretty snailmail! I made a little lined bag for some tea bags (or little trinkets), made paper confetti & added stickers, put in pretty papers & a cute post card.

from Saar:
An exam survival package including lolly pops, sweet candy, delicious tea, trail mix, a cup a soup and of course a lovely letter. So sweet! Made good use of it!

Tomorrow I'm off to pick up a package at the post office, because apparently I wasn't at home on Friday. (Liars, I was and didn't hear no bell ring :( ) Anyway, can't wait to see what's in it!
Have a wonderful Sunday! I'll talk to you soon!

Back in 2012 I promised the bf I would make him a pair of boxer shorts. I was a bit hesitant though, because I didn't really know how to deal with pants. At the end of 2013, I finally managed to make him his first pair of handmade boxers. And yay, they fit!

I used leftover fabric from my batwing blouse and an old pair of boxers that I cut up to use as the pattern. Turns out to be not so hard after all!

pps Missed the blogpost about the February photo challenge?

Talk to you soon!
On February 12 I'll turn 23. Since I won't be doing anything special (other than school & a drink at night) I thought it would be fun to get home to fun birthday mail!
Just like last year, I would love to receive lots of it! Getting "old-fashioned" mail is soooo much nicer than happy birthday-wishings on Facebook.

(Hurray for crappy but funny amateuristic photo collages!)

If you would like to send me a postcard, please do. ♡ I'll randomly pick out one sender to reply with a little handmade something. So be sure to leave your address on the card or the back of the envelope.

Click here to go to the form, fill it in and I'll get back to you with my address :)

Talk to you soon!

ps. In case you missed it, you can find all the details about the February photo challenge here!.
Time for another Photo Challenge month! Malu & I came up with the themes. The rules are simple: you take one photo each day, but are free to choose a theme out of the list. That way, on February 28th, you'll have 28 pictures of the 28 themes. It's as simple as that.

February photo challenge

I'm excited! Good luck everyone!

A dear friend of mine & fellow owl lover celebrated her birthday back in July. I made her a pencil case (with the help of this tutorial by Oontje - sorry guys, it's in Dutch!) with gorgeous owl & mushroom fabric. She moved to her own place so I made her some coasters as well. And I found these adorable owl notebooks in den Action. So all together, they make an owlsome handmade present! It took me a while to deliver it to her, but she was very happy with it!

Also, this is the very first pencil case I've ever made. I had no clue it is so easy! I think a lot more will follow.. Maybe even using the tutorial for perfectionists.

So, what's the last thing you made? (Anything creative counts!)

On Tuesday I'll put up a post about February Photo Challenge! Oh yes, once again, I think it will be nice to organize a photo challenge month for people to get to know their camera a bit better, expand their boundaries, … So check back on Tuesday if you'd like to participate! :)

// I saw this tag at Zolea and couldn't resist filling it in. Kinda felt like I was a child again, filling in friendship books and all that. Too bad there was no room for a drawing here ;-)

One more exam to go (French) on Tuesday and I have holidays again! Toitoitoi fellow students. We can do this!
ps At the end of the month I'll be going on vacation with my sweetest family. Any tips for Curaçao? Please leave 'em down below!

Talk to you soon!
Remember the Bucket list I made a month ago? I'm here to show you guys what I've accomplished so far!

1. watch snowflakes fall down
2. put up a Christmas tree
3. decorate home a little more
4. make a snowman
5. have a snowball fight
6. catch snowflakes on my tongue
7. make flannel pj bottoms
8. bake a pie
9. curl up under a blanket with a good book
10. go ice skating
11. do a photo shoot outside

12. watch a whole season of a series
13. discover new kinds of tea
14. boardgame night! (or: family game night!)
15. finally donate all my old clothes to charity
16. print my project 365 and put the photos in a book
17. try to make ice ribbons
18. find a place for our record player and play some tunes
19. make hot coco with marshmallows
20. bake bagels
21. mail little presents to my penpals

1, 4, 5, 6 & 17 have been rather difficult since I haven't spotted a single snowflake yet.

7. Last week at the sewing bee I ripped up my old, worn out pajama pants and used them as a pattern to make some new ones. They turned out suuuuper duper comfy. I don't want to take them off, ever.

9. Yesterday I visited my local library to pick up some books. Exams will be over soon, so that means lots of time to read again. Yay. Also, I made a Goodreads account, so if you want to be up-to-date about the books I read and my opinion about them, you should check that out.

12. I started rewatching Skins (UK) because the first time I saw this series I was blown away because it is so atypical. Also, their slang is hilarious. Pretty sure I'm gonna finish the first 4 seasons before exams are over.. Also, I need to finish Girls season 2!

13. So far I've only tried out 'Darjeeling'. (and liked it!)

21. Yup.

So. Yeah. I still have a lot to do. Fortunately, I have 2 more months to go, so I should be good.

How has your Winter been so far? Did you make any plans, and have you accomplished them yet?

ps Thanks for the good luck wishes on my exams! The first one went okay! Today I have my second one and then I'm halfway through. Yay!
Over the past few weeks my mailbox was a happy mailbox. And so was I :)

to Saar:
Christmail! With a cat santa claus and handmade coasters for her new home.

to Mary:
Christmail! Including an owl hand warmer, postcard and handmade Christmas tree ornament.

to Aline:
Birthday mail!

from Sarah:
My niece bought me this super cute owl masking tape in Japan. She forgot it at our Christmas diner party so sent it by mail. Yay! Thank you so much ♥

from Saar:
Reindeer tissues ♥

from Fab:
Fab sent me a long letter on gorgeous stationary, she added a mail tag and she sent me an awesome Christmas present: owl socks! They fit perfectly and I love them. Thank you!

from Mary:
Mary is the best at making little booklets. I wish you could see, touch and feel the book yourself so you could notice all the perfect little details she probably spent a lot of time and effort on. Also, as a Christmas present she sent me adorable bird note cards with matching envelopes. ♥

from Kathleen:
The last happy mail from 2013! Kathleen "gave away these smile tabs on her blog and look how cute they are! I couldn't resist. Opening this envelope was like a little party, it includes so many awesome things. P.S. She designs those postcards herself, take a look at her shop here. Thanks K!

from Merula:
I won one of her handmade leaf brooches! Awesome, right? One can never have enough brooches (that's my motto ;-) )

from Elise:
Elise sent me adorable owl pins together with my memory key she borrowed.

Oh and remember:

Take care & talk to you soon!
