Lately I haven't been as inspired as I was when I first started with 'Project 365' on November 1st. So Tine and I decided it was time for another photo challenge! I came up with this fun list to take a photo each day in June, in a certain theme per day.
I would love it if you would participate in this challenge :) If you do, please leave a link to your blog via Mr. Linky (below), so we can all check it out. Spread the word and be inspired!
Hi guys!
I'm making a reappearance on the blog again - could that have anything to do with the upcoming exams? - to show you a super fun hairstyle I attempted a few weeks back.
It's a big hairdo you can achieve by rolling up your wet hair and letting it sit over night. And it doesn't even take that long preparing your hair. Curling my hair with a regular curling iron takes way longer and I would never achieve this look. Anyway, on to the result!
right after I took the strips of fabric out of my hair
left: few minutes before I went to bed - right: after I got up
after undoing the strips of fabric. a bit anxious about how it would turn out
(as you can probably tell by the look on my face!)
A few hours later, the lovely Sophie Bell shot some pictures of my hair as well. Unfortunately the curls didn't maintain their shape that long, but I'm guessing that's my own fault since I didn't use a volume mousse or serum. Any recommendations for my next attempt?
In case you're curious, I used the tutorials from this & this girl. If you want to recreate this hairdo as well, please do. (And share some pictures!) It's so much fun having this much volume in your hair! (I wish my hair would be like that all the time..)
I'm off, studying some more and preparing the apartment for our two kittens (!!!!!) We're going to pick them up on Saturday, so more about them later. Expect a fluffy cuteness overload in the upcoming weeks!
Take care!
Hi guys!
How are you all doing? I can't wait to get back to the regular blogging routine, catching up on all the blogs I usually read, sewing & reading again, ... A little longer and I'm freeeee!
A few weeks ago, at our weekly sewing bee, I made another waterfall collar dress. I made one before in November, see it here. The fabric kinda looks alike, but this one is a lot shorter and therefore more spring & summer like, in my opinion.
What do you think?
I let the two other Elisses out of the closet for a little photoshoot. ps: look, I'm at the boyfriends apartment! I just love the color of these walls. And yup, that's an orchid! One green lady over here!
See you in a while, crocodile!
Hi guys!
First of all let me say thank you for still visiting my blog even though I'm no longer blogging as consistently as I used to. I hope things will change around here for the better, but I'm not going to make promises I - will possibly - break. So thank you lovelies, for still sticking around. :)
I'm here today with another snail mail update! I still send out letters and cards, but only to the dear penpals that have been with me since the beginning. So for all those who mail me with questions about snail mail, I'm afraid I can't help you.. I can hardly keep up with my 'old buds'. Anyway, hope you enjoy this edition of Snail mail Sunday!
from Jessi:
Jessi sent me a sweet postcard all the way from Suriname. Thank you!
to the bf:
A big card to my boy, he deserved it after all the moving stress :)
to Marlou:
I received Marlou's letter in January... So it was about time to finally write back to her, and I also sent her two more Brussels postcards starring 'Manneken Pis'. I'm a tiny bit proud of the envelope, it looks so nice!
to Saar:
I wrote a letter to Saar and pimped the envelope with a newspaper poem which says: "I like you".
That's all I have to share. Enjoy your Sunday :) I'm off working at the pancake house!
In April I...
» well, actually the bf moved into his first own apartment :) We moved boxes and furniture, bought a new couch and loads of other stuff at Ikea, painted walls and were exhausted. So worth it though, it's becoming a really nice and cozy little palace.
» went on a family trip to France. We played games, saw beavers, got spoiled and acted like we were aristocrats.
» had a 'Komen Eten' diner party. We ended the evening with some good old trivial time.
» got the best Christmas present ever from my sister, finally live on scene!
» had another dressup party!
» thrifted a book about embroidery.
» invited my fab friends for diner at the apartment.
How was your April? And what are your plans for May? My May will be filled with studying and making it to the deadlines.. Wish me luck!
Hi guys (& gals)!
I just got back from Berlin (will share some pictures and tips later!) and discovered the MMM-Project via Plutomeisje. What a fantastic idea! The Me-Made-May challenge is all about integrating self-stitched and upcycled items in your wardrobe. Because as we all may have experienced: some handmade clothing pieces don't get worn as much as they ought to :-) That's about to change in May!
I, Elisse of Bij Gebrek Aan Beter, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May ’13. I endeavour to wear a handmade/upcycled garment/accessory at least three days a week for the duration of May 2013. I also pledge to sew or upcycle two new pieces of clothing/accessories.
You can read all about MMM'13 over here. Are you participating as well?
I'll update you every now and then about how the challenge is coming along for me.
Have a nice weekend! See you on Sunday for a snail mail Sunday revival!
