07 one of the first self portraits i made with my new camera
08 these ones are still my besties ~ 09 healthy lifestyle for the win
10 festivals and laughter with my bff for life, my sister - every year, we get along better ~ 11 crafting is my middle name

ps.

Hi y'all! This will be a super short blogpost. I know I'm a couple of days late, but I still want to wish you a few last amaaazing and awesome days of 2014! Enjoy & cherish them with your friends and family. Thank you for your support these past few years and I'll talk to you soon! (Off to some more stuffing my belly with yummy food!)
So, um, yeah, I did a three day detox/juice cleanse in October, and by now I thought about (finally) putting up a blogpost.

I am by no means an expert, and am just sharing MY experiences. I hope this will inspire you to start detoxing yourself.

Detoxing your body has a ton of benefits and is good for your mind, body and health. The main reason why I wanted to try out a detox was to get rid of all the toxins, but also to boost my immune system. And I think that worked fine!

I thought about buying detox cleanse juices, but that would've cost me a fortune. So I prepared by doing a lot of research on healthy detoxing (check my Pinterest board if you're interested!), wrote down some key ingredients, went to the market, got myself a sh*tload of fruit and veggies and borrowed my sisters' juicer. (You could also use a blender for these juices.)

After that, it was time to get started! Before starting the cleanse, you have to start flushing your body with fluids (two days prior to the start date of your detox). After your juice cleanse ends, you can't immediately hurry to the closest snack bar but make sure you start going back to eating 'normal' meals slowly. It's okay to have three meals a day, but try to stick to healthy food.
I want to share my juice plan (which I just made up as I got along), but please don't follow this as your plan. Everyone's different and needs adjusted meals. Listen to your body!

Wednesday:
» glass of half warm water with the juice of 1/2 lemon
» Breakfast juice: 1/2 cucumber, 1 apple, 1 cup of spinach, 1 kiwi
» Lunch juice: 1/2 cucumber, 1 cup of cranberries, 1 pear, 1 banana (don't put the banana in your juicer, but add it later and blend!)
» Snack juice (serves 2 people): 3 oranges, 2 apples, 1 pear, 1 kiwi
» Dinner juice: 1 stalk of celery, 2 carrots, 1/2 zucchini, 1 apple, juice of 1/2 lime
» Late night snack: 1 banana
» 2l water

Thursday:
» green tea with the juice of 1/2 lemon
» Breakfast: 1/2 cucumber, 1 stalk of celery, 1 apple, 1 cup of spinach, juice of 1/4 lime
» Lunch: 1/2 cucumber, 1 carrot, 1 pear, 1 kiwi, juice of 1/4 lime
» Dinner: 3 oranges, 1 pear, 1 banana, 1 kiwi, 2 apples
» Late night snack: 2 carrots + sleepy time tea
» 2l water

Friday:
» green tea with the juice of 1/2 lemon
» Breakfast: 1/2 cucumber, 2 cups of spinach, 1 apple, juice of 1/2 lime
» Lunch: 4 tomatoes, 1/2 cucumber, 1 stalk of celery
» Snack: 1 cup of grapes, 1 cup of cranberries, 3 oranges, 1 pear
» Dinner: 1 stalk of celery, 2 carrots, 1/2 zucchini, 1 apple, juice of 1/2 lime
» 2l water

The morning juices were awful (click to see what I looked like drinking the first one, haha!). The first two days I had a rough time drinking them, the flavour was just so unusual, nothing like I've ever drank before. I think it's because of the celery. I'm not a huge celery fan :) Apart from that, it wasn't that hard to persevere. Although I was feeling very hungry and sometimes even weak, and I encountered occasional headaches. I knew in advance this was possible. That's why I chose to do this detox during my vacation. I didn't have any big plans during those three days other than working from home, crafting and reading.

After the third day, I got up the next morning and was so happy I could finally EAT something again and nibble on some real food. At the same time I felt revitalized and so full of energy! (And in the next week, I noticed my skin getting a lot better. I had less breakouts and my skin looked a lot clearer! That must've been from all that water and all those vitamins getting in my belly :) )

This three day detox was definitely not that easy for me, but I'm going to make this a yearly habit.

Let me know what you think about juice cleanses. Are you a fan? Do you have any more suggestions or tips for me?

Talk to you soon!
Autumn has finally arrived! It's getting colder & colder, and the falling leafs are so pretty. Time for a second update on my Autumn bucket list!

1. have some me-time
2. make something for myself
3. make a scarf
4. try out 3 pins (2/3)
5. do something that is totally out of my comfort zone
6. have a fun day out with the bf and our godchildren
7. watch 5 new (to me) movies (5/5)

8. complete 5 more things of my Summer bucket list (3/5)
9. take an outdoor nature walk - in general: be outdoors more often
10. release a floating lantern and make a wish
11. go swimming at least once a month (1/3)
12. sleep in a tent
13. get my favorite boots resoled
14. get some new warm winter slippers

4. 2/3
I spoiled myself with this (yummy) homemade mask. I had pinned it a loooong time ago but don't always have lemons in my fridge. A couple of days ago I had so I made this scrub/exfoliating mask and put it on my face and lips. I let it sit for about 15 minutes and then washed my face. All done, and  feels like having a babyskin!
& I've had oatmeal in the past, but not like this! Sanne posted a recipe from her favorite breakfast every day this past week and I'm feeling super inspired. This was a definite win (although I would make half of the batch Sanne makes, because it's a little too much for me every morning).

8. 3/5
I threw out two giant bags of clothing (in a clothing container from OXFAM, no worries!). There were some clothes that didn't fit anymore, but also just some that weren't really my style anymore. And then I kinda forced the bf to clean out his closet as well. I still have a bunch of clothes lying around, which is good enough for selling (cheaply) so I might have to go to another flea market and get myself a spot.

9. Yup! I really love these walks in the park :)

11. Nope! I'll have to get my game up and go swimming two more times this Autumn. Why, oh why, have I begun procrastinating again?

14. Success as well! I scored these ones during my shopping spree at Primark in November.

ps. I'm seriously doubting to record myself singing for #5. But I promise, it won't be that good. Just want to expand my mindset a little!

pps. My wisdom teeth are being removed at this instant! As I'm typing this (for you guys it's yesterday) I'm getting really anxious.. Uh-oh. Hope I don't end up like a giant Easter egg :)
Joehoe! Sorry for my absence, it's been hectic and crazy school-wise but I promise to be back soon! In the meantime I'll share another batch of Project 365 photos with y'all :)

Talk to you soon! Take care!

Happy December! I can't wait to get in the Christmas spirit. Now that the weather is getting colder, all I want to do is cuddle up under a blanket with a hot coco, some marshmallows and host a movie marathon. Let me give you a little peek into my life. This is what happened during November!

In November, I…

» went to the cinema with the bf to see Mockingjay (part 1 of the final Hunger Games). SO. MUCH. EXCITEMENT! The bf was less enthusiastic, but oh boy, that song got stuck in my head for another week!

» spent quite some time working. It was all for a good cause!

» cuddled with these three.

» had two more radio shows! (our program is called Radio Ananas, and you can livestream it every Tuesday from 12am to 1pm at 21bis.be, if you're interested!)

» went out for autumnal walks a lot. Great for thinking and breathing in some fresh air!

» waited and went to the hospital a few times. 12/12 I'll have to get my wisdom teeth removed. So I'll probably look like a giant Easter egg. I'm not so sure if I want to share my face with the world then, but if I will, you'll notice ;-)

» made way too less photos! December will be better, I can already tell :)

» saw 9 movies, 1 season of series & read 5 books.

I'm participating in this project called Bloggers Group Hug that Jade started. BloggersGroupHug stands for support, unity & similarity in the blogging world. The basic idea is that every week, we get sent a word and we have to describe that word in our own way. You can read all about it here. (Jade is much better in explaining her project!)

This week's word is someday.

analoogje made by me

Someday I want to travel. Alone. All by myself. Because I need to find out if I can live with myself, I want to figure out who I am and why I do the things I do.
Someday I want to build a fort with the love of my life where we can hide from the rest of the world and just be us. Without having to be there and everywhere and to escape from life, just for a little bit.
Someday I will stop taking an effort to explain to people why I don't want children & why I don't want to get married. I don't know why it's so hard to wrap your head around the fact that not everyone expects the same from life, and that it's okay to not have the same opinion all the time. I don't like it that I have to defend myself all the time and have to come up with arguments to explain why I don't want children.

I didn't mean for this post to become so serious all of a sudden, but I just felt the need to get this off my chest. :)

What pops up in your mind when reading the word someday?

Have a wonderful, sunny Saturday! Talk to you soon!
