How was your week? Are you all ready to celebrate Easter? Tomorrow the bf gets the keys to his appartment :) so exciting times coming up! On Monday we'll move all his stuff out of his current place. And after that it's my time to shine: decorating time!

In other news: I'm on a refashion roll! I had an old grey tanktop with holes at the bottom, and a floral skirt (prettiest fabric ever!) that wasn't in such good condition either. I simply stitched them together and ta-daaaah: new spring dress is born!











I paired the dress with an owl brooch that my sister got me and a thrifted belt.

Let me tell you something: couscous is delicious. I could eat it any given part of the day, any day... This week I made couscous a different way then I used to. It was yummy, so I might as well share the "recipe" with you! You have to taste this!

Things you'll need: (4 people)
» 300 gr. couscous
» 300 ml. boiled water
» olive oil
» salt & pepper
» 2 cups of golden and/or dark raisins (I used both)
» 1 small onion
» 1 zucchini
» 2 tomatoes
» a pack of sun-dried tomatoes
» 200 gr. of feta cheese
» 1/2 lemon
» optional: 1 Granny Smith apple

Let's get started!
1. Add the boiled water to the couscous and the raisins. Add a little bit of olive oil. Let it stand for 5 minutes.

2. In the meantime chop the onion, zucchini, sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese and apple. Chop the tomatoes as well, but remove the seeds. (Or your couscous will become too watery.)

3. Put your vegetables and couscous together. Give it a good stir. Then add the juice of 1/2 lemon. Add pepper & salt.

4. And you're done! Bon appétit!



This is such an easy dish to prepare, yet perfect to welcome back the sun! :-)

Voilà, ik licht geire een tipje van de sluier. Velen van jullie raadden juist! Ik maakte de voorbije weken nogal een massaproductie aan omkeerbare tassen. En zo'n tas steekt héél snel in mekaar, op een uurtje maak ik er twee. De tutorial van Skip to my Lou is superduidelijk, dus pinnen die handel!

Ik maakte natuurlijk eerst eentje voor mezelf, want 't was nogal lang geleden dat ik mij nog eens aan een totebag had gewaagd. (Zie hier de uilenversies 1 & 2 en de hartjesversie)

Als basis nam ik dit hemd dat ik in T2 op de kop tikte voor €1. Ik behield de voor- en achterkant van het hemd en stikte de knoopjesrij dicht. Klaar voor gebruik! Het blauwe stofje vond ik op zolder bij de bomma. De borstzakjes zijn suuuperhandig, daar kunt ge nu eens echt veul in kwijt sé!

A lot of you guessed the sneak peek photo revealed details of a totebag, and you are right! These last few weeks I kinda went crazy and made a lot of reversible totebags! This is a really fast project, you can make one from scratch in about half an hour. I used this tutorial by Skip to my Lou.

I made a few of these reversible totebags before. Here I made 2 owl totebags & here I made one with hearts for my mom.

I made this one for myself, using a short sleeved shirt from T2 for €1. The blue fabric I got from my granny. I repurposed the front & back of the shirt, sewing down the buttons to keep them closed. Give me a thumbs up for the pockets that can now serve for little trinkets :)



When all other totebags have arrived at their rightful new owners I'll show you those ones as well! :)

Hi guys! How was your week?

For the next 3 weeks I don't have to go to school (yay, vacation!!) and I have a lot of fun stuff planned in. Also a lot of writing is (which is also fun!) on the to-do list. How about you? Do you have plans for the holidays?

Vorige week werd ik uitgenodigd door het PR-bureau UPR om naar de persconferentie te komen van Veritas. De nieuwe stoffencollectie werd voorgesteld en we kregen de kans om zélf iets te maken met die stofjes. Natuurlijk ging ik op die uitnodiging in! (Mijn eerste persconferentie, woehoe!) Ook Eline kwam afgezakt naar Antwerpen (mini blogmeet: check!) en samen bewonderden we al het moois.





De nieuwe collectie van Veritas heet Sew-be-do en bevat vrolijke (voorgeknipte) lapjes stof en fournituren als knopen, biaislint, paspelband én strijkpatches! Veritas lanceert dit stofjesconcept om mee te gaan in de do it yourself-hype die de laatste jaren in de lift zit. 'Creatief zijn is leuk en iederéén kan het', luidt de boodschap.

Kijk maar eens mee naar al die pracht en praal! Ik verlekker mij al op de zwaluwstof - waar Birte jammer genoeg mee aan de haal ging - en de roze flamingostof.








Daarna was het tijd voor de workshop! We mochten zelf de stofjes en accessoires kiezen die we wilden gebruiken. Kiezen tussen al het leuks dat we konden creëren was niet gemakkelijk, maar toch twijfelde ik niet lang. Een wolkkussen zou echt keischoon staan bij de nieuwe zetel van 't lief!


Ik koos twee retrostofjes (eentje met streepjes en eentje met bloemetjes) en een geel pomponbandje.


En hop, ik kon aan de slag. Chique dinges daar, daar heb ik niet veel kaas van gegeten. Gelukkig kreeg ik hulp van Eline. Want zo'n automatisch naaimasjien joeg mij wel wat schrik aan.










Anderhalf uur later was ik een mooi wolkenkussen rijker én had ik al een preview gekregen van de schone stofjes!


Vanaf 28 maart vind je het nieuwe gamma met voorgeknipte stofjes en alle fournituren in Veritas. Spannend! En als je (nog!) niet zo handig bent met naald en draad kan je op hun website terecht. Daar vind je handige handleidingen en inspirerende ideetjes die je zo op weg helpen!

// Last week I went to my very first press conference! I met up with Eline and we discovered the new collection by Veritas. We even made our own cloud cushions with some of their new fabrics. Yay! Thank you UPR & Veritas!

It felt so good finally writing back! I had so much to tell Saar :) And I made her a reversible totebag (more about that later) as a birthday present!

Due to the snow I couldn't get to school today. Lucky for me, that means: time for crafting!

I made a peacock feather felt brooch for myself, based on this one I pinned. It looks very Elisse-like - which means it's not perfect - and I like it! I worked on some other things as well, but I'll show those some other time. :)

I think I'm going to keep this one for myself.

A few weeks ago Fab hosted the secret penpal scavenger hunt on her blog, and I decided to participate. I had so much fun finding stuff that I thought my secret penpal would enjoy. But I'll show you what I sent her later, because I don't think she has received it yet..

What I received? I can barely start describing it. My penpal Jenni, from Finland, surprised me with this giant package.

Yep, you could say I got spoiled. Big time. I'm a happy gal.
