I bought a new lens for my camera! (a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II, bought here)

Finally a blogpost about the owl costume I made for my Disney-themed birthday party. Inspired by Big Mama - of course.
On the day of the party, I still had to start sewing the dress. So I decided to take an old second hand little black dress that I never wore (so that I didn't have to make a dress from scratch). I let my sister cut out all the feathers and I sewed it all together. Perfect teamwork! Then I made some wings out of an old bear costume and a felt mask. Done!
// Uitsteller is mijn tweede naam, vandaar dat ik op de dag van mijn feestje - na alle feestbenodigdheden te zijn gaan kopen - nog moest beginnen aan mijn uilenpakje. Oeps! Ik besloot daarom om een oud zwart kleedje (*jurkje voor de Nederlanders onder ons) te gebruiken als basis. Ik liet mijn zus het uitknipwerk doen en naaide zelf alles als nen doorgedraaide zot aan mekaar. Daarna had ik nog vleugels nodig. Sh*t, waar moest ik die nog vandaan toveren? Jolien (aka de zus) vond een oud berenpak op de zolder en ik maakte er vleugels uit. Daarna nog snel een uilenmaskertje van vilt in mekaar geflanst. En klaar! Party time!
For the Fotokabien this month I wanted to experiment a bit with my make-up, so I took my blue/green eyeliner pencil and made these wings. So much fun! Do I look like a peacock now? Haha.

Since a few of you wanted to see some of my 'favorite' places in Ghent, I decided to dedicate a little post about the city.

The first night I was there we went to a lovely little pub where we drank a booze called RoomeR, a typical liquor in Ghent. RoomeR is an aperitif based on a syrup made from elderflower blossoms. Sooo yummy!
// De eerste avond gingen we naar een klein, gezellig cafeetje waar we een artesanaal Gents drankje dronken, RoomeR genaamd. Gemaakt op basis van vlierbloesem, in de fles/het glas drijven dus ook effectief kleine bloemetjes rond. Heel lekker!
The day after we went to the S.M.A.K. museum, of course a must-do when you're in Ghent! Especially if you're still a (belgian) student, because you only have to pay €1 to see most of the collection.
// De dag nadien trokken we eerst naar het S.M.A.K., uiteraard een echte must-do wanneer je in Gent bent. En zeker wanneer je een (Belgische) student bent, want dan betaal je maar €1 inkom.
We strolled around town a little bit after our visit to the museum, and then went to Julie's house, where we had the. best. cupcakes. ever. They served delicious hot coco and tea as well.
I tried a cuberdon-cupcake.
// We struinden nog wat rond door de stad en nadien gingen we naar Julie's house, waar we de. lekkerste. cupcakes. ooit. verorberden. En heerlijke warme chocomelk (en thee) hadden ze er ook. Ik proefde van de neuzekes-cupcake.
Verrry busy day, because we also visited "het Huis van Alijn" that day. Really worth it though! If you ever visit Ghent, please go visit this museum. The guys sitting behind the desk are awesome.
// Het was me het dagje wel, want we bezochten ook het Huis van Alijn nog. ECHT de moeite waard! Heb nog niet de hele tentoonstelling kunnen bezoeken, dus ik ga zeker nog eens terug.

The sweetest of them all, and my favorite. Especially the song "Best of Friends" (but the Dutch version of course) is beautiful and brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. By the way, I must agree with you guys, the movie is so sad, but só good.

The 7th of February was quite the busy day for me, so I decided to do a little project: a photo an hour-project to be exactly. Well, kind off. I didn't really take pictures of e v e r y t h i n g because that would've been a bit silly.

Getting up at my boyfriends' place. No photos from moody boyfriend and moody Elisse.
8:45 am
Kissing the boyfriend goodbye because he had to go to his job. I took the tram home and decided not to take the usual road, but to take a walk in the park and to snap a few pictures of the snow.
9:15 am
Arriving home and eating breakfast, including a grapefruit. It's so yummy I'm gonna die!
10 am
A bit of surfing on the www, visiting my favorite blogs, and so on.
11 am
My sister and I took the bike together to go exercising (and to be more precise: bodystyling). Afterwards we spent 15 minutes in the "ozoncabine" for complete relaxation. We took a shower and went back home.

Lunch time!
And look at our backyard. I loooooove our cats!

I did a bit of research/preparation for my birthday party this saturday. I'm turning 21 and I just had to throw a birthday party! The theme is - of course - Disney.

My bangs needed a haircut.

Going to the garage with my dad to pick up our car. CIB-ke is all better now, I guess he just couldn't really stand the cold.

Doing my nails and make up.

Dinner time! Unfortunately I didn't take pictures.

Making my bag and taking the train to Ghent with a dear friend.
Me and 4 female friends had a little city trip in Ghent 7 - 8 February. It was lovely. We had a lot of catching up to do. If you're curious to see some pictures from our citytrip, let me know, then I'll post some of my favourite places in Ghent!
January was of course studying month. Study-mode: on, social life: off.

But my boyfriend and I also went babysitting on our godchildren. They are so adorable. We had a lot of fun with my glasses.
// Maar ik ging ook op bezoek met mijn lief bij diens petekind en mijn metekind. 't Zijn zo'n schatjes. En die zijn dus grote fan van mijnen bril.
We also had fun while messing around with play-dough, playing old grumpy men in the bath tub and dressing up as princesses.
// Ennnn we speelden ook met play-dough - toch een geweldige uitvinding, zó plezant (jeugdherinneringen komen boven, aaaah) -, deden alsof we oude grimmige mannetjes waren terwijl we in bad zaten en staken duuuuzend speldjes in ons haar en dachten dat we prinsesjes waren.
Oh, and the fisheye lens that I bought for my boyfriend finally arrived! Of course I couldn't control myself and just hád to play around with it myself, before giving it to him.. I had to test it, right?
// Oh, en het fisheye lenske voor den boy kwam eindelijk aan! Moest natuurlijk wel helemaal uit China komen. Ik kon mezelf natuurlijk niet bedwingen en moest het zelf al eens eerst testen met mijn gsm.. hihi.
